The Florida Snake Problem
Animals become a problem for us:
1. When they pose direct predatory a danger to our lives
2. When they endanger our food supply via excessive predation or crop consumption.
In the case of Florida snakes, it is the threat of direct predation which is the main problem. The secondary problem is that they are decimating the wildlife in the Everglades and animals which added to its diversity are becoming extremely rare or not preset at all.
The sad part about all this is that these snakes are not indigenous to the Everglades. Many were imported as pets from Asia and released into the wild when they become too larger to be cute pets any longer. Others were released into the Everglades by storms. Of course the Everglade climate is ideal for these snakes and they have prospered. In fact, they are even killing and eating what was once the prime Everglade predator-the Florida alligator.
Even more disturbing is, that due to global warming, they are gradually making their way up the Eastern coast towards the big northern cities. Once there, they can suddenly emerge in your bathroom via the toilet bowl as they are presently doing in Florida. Have a pet you dearly love? Well, these critters will consider it food. That includes your pit bulls. Remember, this animal takes on crocs. Children will also be eaten if it is possible.

It's estimated the they lay 30 to 100 eggs per year one python depending on their size.
Using the lower estimate of thirty eggs per yea each
50,000 female Boa constrictors laying 30 eggs per year each.
1,500,000 snakes hatching in one year
One million five-hundred-thousand baby snakes per year.
One million five-hundred-thousand baby snakes per year.
That's a lot of snakes! No wonder that they are making a large percentage of the native Everglade species go extinct. This lack of prey causes them to target pet dogs and cats and even humans. It is also causing them to spread northward and westward aided by global warming in the search for food.
