Trinity vs Non Trinity? Your reaction in heaven?
I have often wondered how people who claim to be Christians would react if they were suddenly in heaven and their expectations of God's nature were not the ones they expected. For example, how would Trinitarians react if God were revealed not to be a Trinity? If they discovered that Jesus was indeed Created first, and every other creation was created through him. How would such persons react if they were told that it was the created being Jesus who died for our sins, the Son of God, and not God himself? Would the resurrected and glorified Trinitarian panic?
Or if a resurrected and glorified Unitarian, who believes that God is not a Trinity, suddenly found out that God is indeed a Trinity and that now he will need to completely re-modify his view of God's nature and View Jesus not just as the son of God, but as God himself and to accept that it was God himself who suffered on the cross for our sins and paid the prize for our redemption. How would such an individual react? Would he also panic?
To be honest, to me such reactions seem silly. You see, if I found myself in that situation, I would calmly accept either reality and worship God as my creator as he describes himself. It would be inconceivable for me to strive to impose my ideas of whom God should be when God is telling me whom he really is. That would be my humble reaction to such a revelation. Actually, if you think about it, that would be the wisest most appropriate and the most logical response. After all, no matter what our human opinion of God's nature might be, or how we feel about it,he is whom he is regardless of how we might chance to feel about it, and it would be hubris to react otherwise.
