We are Drifting away from the Sun!
As terrifyingly strange as it might seem, we are drifting away from the sun. Now, before you have a nervous breakdown, or go totally insane from the i stress induced by this horrific statement, which elicits visions of a slow freezing death, a devastated earth, or a life forced underground, please take time to reconsider, the details of the facts. True, we are definitely drifting away from the sun.
Why? Well, simple, because as the sun loses mass due to the solar wind generated by the nuclear fusion in its core, it also loses gravitational pull. In short, not only us but also all the rest of the celestial objects orbiting it are drifting away. You know, comets, asteroids, moons, planets. In our case, which is the case that is of most concern, it amounts to a mere half an inch per year. In short, the drifting is so slow that we haven't noticed it don't notice it. Neither does it amount to any big deal in terms of distance over thousands of years. Let me illustrate.
Half an inch per year would be an inch every two years.
Two inches in four years
Eight inches in sixteen years
A foot in twenty two years
" That's not even close to a mile which measures approx 5,080 feet and the temperature effects on Earth will be negligible. So for those of you about t commit sepuco, or ready to start digging an underground abode for yourself and loved ones-don't worry, chances are you won't be around when the real trouble starts.

Let's continue:
1 foot =22 yrs
2 feet = 44 yrs
4 feet = 88 yrs
8 feet =176 years
16 feet =252 yrs
32 feet =504 years
62 feet -1,008 years
620 feet = 10,080 years
1,240 feet = 11, 160 years
2,480 feet = 22, 220 years
2 feet = 44 yrs
