Does Claiming to be Christian Make you one?
As idiotic as it might seem, there are those on the Senior Forum claiming that those describing Jesus as being delusional because Jesus believed that Genesis is historically accurate account, are genuinely Christians simply because they claim to be Christians.
Now this attitude is nothing new. You see, there are plenty of historical examples where persons were behaving totally contrary to how Christians are expected to behave, and yet considered genuine Christians. Even Vlad the maniacal Impaler, was glibly described as a follower of our Lord Jesus, as well, as were those murderous Spaniards who arrived in the New World and then proceeded to commit atrocities in the name of Christ, such as burning Native Americans alive and using their children to feed their dogs are casually described as Christians.
Which of course goes completely contrary to what the Bible clearly tells us that being a Christian requires.
