Four More Games Against Machinelike Opponents
No, I definitely do not mind losing games in chess. Losing is a part of chess, and I humbly accept my losses. In fact, I consider most of my losses justified either because I played badly, or else because my opponent played exceptionally well. I admire such wins and give credit where credit is due.
However, what I do not feel like accepting is playing against seemingly infallible, and virtually unbeatable opponents who for all practical purposes, resemble computers who never make any significant mistakes.
You see, that kind of exercise in futility I will not accept, and its annoying frequency is getting to the point where I might stop any online participation in playing chess in order to avoid it.
It had happened at chess.com when I was a paying member approx. two years ago, and now it is happening far too often at Lichess, a place where I chose to participate in order to get away from this same garbage at chess.com. There I was never allowed to reach 1700. If indeed I dared to near it, then I suddenly suffered astring of losses that would bring me back down to the 1500's again.
Well, at Lichess, it temporarily seemed different. Then suddenly, it started in relation to the ratings of 1900 in Standard and Rapid chess, and now it has started in reference to the rating of being in the 1700's in blitz.
These seem to have been declared totally off limits to me, and attaining them invariably triggers the same sudden pairings with machinelike opponents who seem specifically assigned to keep me in what seems to be considered my special place.
So if indeed this continues unabated, then I will stop playing chess online.
