Paired with Machinelike Opponents?
There are two reasons why someone that you are playing might seem to be playing like a machine.
Skill
1. The player is so skilled in comparison to you, that you seem to be playing against some infallible machine.
Cheating
2. The player is actually using a computer and that causes a machinelike impression. Now, usually, this situation happens once in a great while, and usually, you feel that you are playing other unaided human beings. Yes, such players might be strong, but there are certain hesitations and mistakes that you, as an experienced player, recognize as human characteristics.
However, if you suddenly encounter a string of eleven players all playing with what appears to be machinelike precision, then the statistical evidence appears to indicate that there is indeed some kind of illegal shenanigans going on in order to get your rating back down to where it is considered appropriate.
MOTIVES
Now, since all human behavior has a motive, one wonders what exactly could motivate someone who can tweak the pairing or who has some type of access and control over such matters to target you in that way.
1. They are fanatically-disposed persons who feel that doing such a thing to someone they consider a foreigner, in their beloved country, is to do MAGA. So feeling patriotic, they will tag you in that way based on perhaps your surname, and then proceed to do what they consider to be their patriotic duty-keeping you in your lower rated place without any way of digging yourself out.
2. Posting your games on your website and on twitter is being considered a sign of hubris, and you are being perceived as arrogantly annoying. So in order to divest you of your inordinate pride, you are paired with machines or cheaters eleven times in a row in order to drop your rating, and teach you to remain humble.
So in order to keep this phenomenon from repeating itself, I will try not to provoke. I will stop placing links to my games on Twitter. However, if this still isn't enough, and i keep getting suddenly paired with unbeatable, machinelike opponents eleven or more times in a row, then I will stop posting my games here on my website as well. If it still continues, then I guess my participation in rated competition on Lichess will come to an end.
