European Immigration to Latin America
Contrary to popular opinion, European immigration to the Americas was not restricted to the USA and Canada. Neither was European immigration to Latin America restricted to Spain.
For example, there were immigrants from Germany, such as those who settled in Southern Brazil. That's one reason Hitler considered an Annexation of southern Brazil.
As well as from other European countries. True, most Mexicans are of Mestizo physical appearance, and two million identify as black. But approx.15 percent fall under the category of white, and many others, such as the late famous actor Anthony Quinn, have Irish ancestors.
BTW An entire Battalion of Irish soldiers who had defected from the USA army due to discrimination fought on the side of Mexico during he Mexican American War. It is known as Saint Patrick's Battalion.
