Euphemisms Fallacious Reasoning
Definition of Euphemism
Euphemism is a figure of speech commonly used to replace a word or phrase that is related to a concept that might make others uncomfortable. Euphemism refers to figurative language designed to replace phrasing that would otherwise be considered harsh, impolite, or unpleasant.
This literary device allows for someone to say what they mean indirectly, without using literal language, as a way of softening the impact of what is being said. The reason for this would be for the sake of politeness, discretion, and other means of mitigating communication. Euphemisms are used for certain abstractions such as death, sex, aging, getting fired, bodily functions, and others.

Now, during my study of logic, euphemisms were included under the category of Fallacious or flawed argumentation. They were portrayed as a devious means to cunningly camouflage any offensive reality, or to make it more morally palatable or else to deceive others into accepting what is untrue and to hide social injustice.
Since such arguments are easily refuted by the presentation of facts, they are considered to be flawed or fallacious reasoning.
Below are some examples of just how devious euphemisms can be:
Killed by friendly fire. Means that the soldier or civilian was killed by his own troops or comrades by mistake. Nothing friendly about it.
Pacification of hostiles: Describes people who are resisting an invasion, such as the Navi in the film Avatar.
Collateral damage: In reference to all the unnecessary deaths inflicted on civilians by the militaries as they fight one another. Includes deaths of children, the ill, the again, and other civilian noncombatants.
Massacre: In reference to Native American victories over USA troops such as the Battle of Little Big Horn and other such engagements.
Soreness: A term used by some physicians in order to describe the agony a patient will experience following a surgical procedure.
Many other examples can be found in the WIKI article linked below.
