Reasons why Two-Star Bandit = A Badge of Honor
Just recently, as I stated before, I was unceremoniously tagged as a Two-Star bandit at the Story-Star Forum because I chose to rate certain stories as deserving the Two-Star rating of Fair. After giving a two-star rating of Fair to the forum administrator's pet-member, which brought his rating down to Great instead from Awesome, I immediately received an email sternly warning me to desist or else be banned. I responded by disagreeing and so was banned.
Well, since then I have given it a lot of thought and suddenly realized that this involves the Christian conscience. In what way?
Well, you see, in the Bible we are repeatedly told to do unto others as we would have others do unto us, which is part of loving our neighbors as ourselves.
So since as a Christian I personally would not like anyone to tell me that my writing deserves an awesome rating, when the person knows that my writing is riddled with errors, and knows that I would greatly benefit from some constructive criticism, I don't do it to others.
So based on that alone, I was fully justified from a Christian perspective to follow that biblical principle and provide an honest rating of two stars and in that way avoid harming my neighbor via hypocritical praise designed to stroke his ego.
Second, it involves dishonesty and there are many scriptures in the Bible that specifically admonish us not to lie.
Furthermore, lying is very strongly associated with the God's and mankind's greatest enemy, the Devil. He is referred to as the Father of the lie. So you see, being tagged a Two-Star Bandit merely means that I was honest and attempted to help my neighbor by providing honest feedback. So I should consider that Two Star Bandit reference a badge of honor.
In conclusion, I truly wish I could have been more helpful. But unfortunately, doing more is considered anathema at that website, so that was the least I could do.

Loving Neighbor as self
Well, you see, in the Bible we are repeatedly told to do unto others as we would have others do unto us, which is part of loving our neighbors as ourselves.
Mark 12:31
…30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 7:12
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Being Truthful
Second, it involves dishonesty and there are many scriptures in the Bible that specifically admonish us not to lie.
Leviticus 19:11
You must not steal. You must not lie or deceive one another.
Eph 4:27
4and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. 25. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one another.
Proverbs 12:17
He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

Eph 4:27

Proverbs 12:17
He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
John 8:44
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
