Urinating on Shoes and Claiming Rain
Yes, it's a common saying referring to those who are attempting to deceive us and whose efforts are so ridiculously obvious, that they are laughable. Like the lady who claimed that she didn't need a driver's license to drive car when the police officer had detained her for speeding. Or a dude who uses the N-word in anger and claims he didn't know it was offensive. Or someone who might elbow your the face in an elevator claiming he didn't see you standing right next to him.
So what does this have to do with religion? Well, very simple, there are actually people who claim to be followers of Jesus, or Christians but who behave like veritable devils. For example, a dude who totally unprovoked threatened to savage me outside after using verbal indecencies and who they claimed that he was a Christian.
Or those who gladly ad very enthusiastically slaughtered one another during WWI and WWII, dropped napalm and even an atomic bomb on Fellow Christians, while claiming to be followers of the Prince of peace. Urinating on someone shoes and claiming it rain pales in comparison, In any case, the only ones that they are fooling are themselves since they are not fooling true Christians or the God whom they claim to be worshipping.
Matthew 7:21 ►
New International Version
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
