Banned from Story Star for being a Two-Star Bandit?
I have just been banned from Story Star again because I gave a certain person a two-star rating. What is a two-star rating? Well below are the ratings and what they represent at the Story-Star forum
Awesome = 5 stars
Great = 4 stars
Good = 3 stars
Fair = 2 stars
Poor = 1 star
As you can see, at the Story Star writing forum a Two-Star rating simply means that the reader found the story to be fair. If indeed that is so, you might ask, then why indeed should anyone be banned for making that choice? Good question! The answered is I don't know. If indeed that two-Star Fair category choice is totally off limits, then why make it available in the first place? Why not simply have only three: first Awesome, Second Great, and third Good, available?
Well, after have given this matter a lot of thought, it seems that the choice of choosing fair for a story is indeed OK occasionally albeit with two very important exceptions.
1. Don't choose the Fair two-star category too often. Why? Well, it might upset the lads who are there to have their egos stroked and you will be accused of being a Two-Star Bandit.
2. Never, and I mean, never ever dare choose a Two-Star Rating in reference to any Kevin Hughes story no matter how badly written you might consider it. No he is not a bad writer. In fact, he is an excellent writer most times. But occasionally, being human and fallible, just as the rest of us are, he does make mistakes.
However, there is the problem. You see, from this administrator's perspective, every single one of his stories must always be classified as Awesome regardless of how a reader might feel about them and why he might feel that way.
So since I reacted by choosing "fair", because I considered two of his recent stories fair I am suddenly deemed a Two-Star-Bandit and have been banned from Story-Star in order to keep everyone there safe from my occasional Two-Star Fair evaluations which might seriously hurt their very sensitive egos.
In contrast, all I request from those who give my stories a low rating, such as one star, is that they provide a reason or reasons why my story deserved a low rating so that I can learn from my mistakes and improve. Otherwise I will repeat and not improve and stagnate as a writer.
Unfortunately, this is not the way that this Story-Star administrator and website owner prefers to view things so she tags me as a Two Star Bandit. To which I say goodbye and good riddance for good this time.

BTW
This fellow will complain to the administrator and others of his supporters there if someone dares give him a rating that isn't awesome because he knows she and they have his back.
