Bird Population compared to Human
My personal experience with birds is limited to two pet canaries and two parakeets, and to occasionally feeding pigeons and crows at public parks. So I had been totally unaware of vast varieties of birds.
Consequently, it came as a great surprise to see the bewildering array of photos of so many different species posted by avid birdwatchers at Twitter. There didn't seem to be any end in sight.
In short I was mesmerized by the kaleidoscopic variety of body-shapes, plumages and color combinations, which seemed limitless in its chromatic variety and numerically interminable. So I decided to research the matter and discovered the following:
How many birds are there in the world?
In a new paper, ... researchers at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, estimate there are likely between 50 billion and 428 billion birds on Earth.
In demographics, the world population is the total number of humans currently living. It was estimated by the United Nations to have exceeded eight billion in mid-November 2022.
Based on the higher estimate, this means that for every human on earth, there would be 53 birds and 6.25 birds for every human on earth based on the lower estimate.
