The Majority of Elderly don't suffer from Dementia
Unfortunately, there is this very serious misconception that old age inevitably inflicts every single person with dementia. However, contrary to this popular opinion, dementia is fortunately not a part of the normal aging process. It is an anomaly and most elderly people do not suffer from it as the article at the URL posted below explains.
True, the dementia percentages for the elderly are higher than for others. However, statistics indicate that only 13 percent do suffer from it, and that leaves a whopping 87 percent who do not. www.prb.org/resources/fact-sheet-u-s-dementia-trends/
Furthermore, examples of persons who have reached advanced age and have continued to excel such as Einstein 76, and Grandma Moses, age 101 Nikola Tesla was 86, abound and prove that assumption of dementia inevitability with age is totally wrong.
Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
