Why the Sinister Claims?
Isn't it rather sinister how people claim being Christian and yet behave like veritable demons? They murder, commit adultery, steal, practice incest, and are habitual liars. In short, they do everything that the Bible identifies as evil and yet vehemently insist in identifying as followers of Jesus.
Is it because they want to feel forgiven for all the sins they commit by claiming that God doesn't care as long as Jesus died and the sins are paid for by his blood?
Well, if an uncaring God is the basis for their behavior, then one would assume that they have scriptural support. Correct? Unfortunately for them, they do not. Instead, it is the direct opposite. Notice what the scriptures below say about what is expected of a follower of Jesus.
But know this, that in the last days perilous times [times of stress] will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving [irreconcilable], slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2Timothy 3:1-5)

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.” (Luke 8:16)
that you may become blameless and harmless [innocent], children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:15
Matthew 7:21 ►
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
