Humans have always fought. If not one-on-one, then in organized crowds called armies. So the fighting itself is not what I find disturbing. What I do find disturbing is a certain peculiar behavior that was once very rarely seen because it was once considered unfair, cowardly, and savage. The behavior is the tendency to repeatedly kick a helpless opponent in the head once he or she is down or rendered unconscious especially since kicking unconscious human heads involves more than just the persons who are fighting.
You see, suddenly and inexplicably, as if summoned by some demonic trumpeter, other human head-kickers suddenly emerge from the screaming cheering crowd as if driven by some irresistible urge, and begin delivering kicks and stomps to the unconscious human's head as well.
Of course, this begs the question: What is it that has suddenly brought on this sudden and spontaneous unmerciful head-kicking craze? Is it that kids today are being shown such violence in their video games and have come to consider that kind of attack as being cool?
Well, that's not far-fetched at all. One thing to keep in mind about video games, is that they inculcate the triviality of human life, and that violence should be used to resolve problems. After all, all the heroes in video games do it, and these heroes are under the total control of the kids playing the games.
After all, kids depend on the adult world to guide them in a society that they are unfamiliar with. In short, kids are similar to humans recently-arrived on an exoplanet who need to be provided with the skills and knowledge necessary to survive. So if kids are taught that violence resolves differences, and that caving in heads is OK in the videos, then they will cave in heads in the real world. If ganging up five on one and sucker-punching is effective in videos, then that skill will be used in the real world.
So the cause of the human head-kicker phenomenon shouldn't mysterious at all. Adults who are probably head-kickers themselves are the ones who are creating these unmercifully savage human head- kickers who see absolutely nothing wrong with caving in human heads with stomps and kicks as the person lies unconscious on the ground.
