God is Love
Many people are familiar with that biblical expression. But how many really appreciate its meaning? How exactly is God love?
Below are provideed some examples along with the greatest example of how God has shown his love for mankind.
1. God's love was expressed first by sharing life with others-such as angels and Mankind. Neither one would have come into existence had God decided to remain totally alone. Some might say that his creation was out of some necessity. But although such needs might be true for his creatures, he himself is complete unto himself, he could have continued on forever. Yet love compelled him to share life and so he created.
2. God showed his love towards his angels by granting them reasoning abilities similar to his and powers to carry out task. In that way they resemble him and he calls them his sons. He also provided them with glorious undying bodies that he compares with stars. He also provided a beautiful place for them to dwell in, a spirit realm which he refers to as heaven.
3. Then God chose to create a differen kind of klife. A material one which he placeedc in a material place called our universe. In it he expressed his love towards mankind by providing them with a beautiful Earth to dwell upon in perfect health forever. He could have placed his material creation on a barren rock like Mars. After all, there are creatures that flourish under harsh environments. Yet he went out of his way to provide mankind with a planet that is a vertible jewel and with fascinating lifeforms both vegetable and animal. He could have made eating and reproduction without pleasure, for example via nuclear fishion as is the case with the amoeba, or given mankind black and white vision.
Yet he made sure we experienced intense plesasure in procreation and could detect all the splendorous colors that he employed to make our home visually appealing via beautiful sunrises and sunsets, splenderous fields of emerald grass interspersed with colorful flowers, magnifiscent waterfalls that leave us enthralled.
He could have created black featureless sky. Yet, he meticulously adorned it with stars that seem to us like millions of diamonds against a dark background and given us a moon with its pleasant light to grace it as well.
5 He also provided his reasoning creatures with a sense of right and wrong and laws to go along with it and made life contingent on following those laws so that the universe could function harmoniously and in peace.
He could have done many things much differently, yet his love impelled him to make the right choices.
4. But the greatest gift of all and the one which is the paramount example of his love is the Ransom sacrifice of his son that he offered in our behalf in order to bring mankind back into his graces and erase the error that was commited in Eden as the scriptures below point out..
John 3:16 ► NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8
But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?
