The Tao of pop-up-pests
I have recently been getting constant pop-ups on my Opera Browser. I cannot seem to stop them regardless of the specific Opera-Browser online-advice I follow. Some are from what claims to be McFee anti virus. Others are from various other sites that I have visited. Not only are they distracting and time consuming, but they block information that I need to see or at least have a right to be seeing, such as the time display on the lower right of the screen.
So if I want to continue using this Opera browser in peace, I will now need to erase it from my computer and reload a new one. Which means that I will have to go through the hassle of getting all my passwords going again at the websites I was using prior to this malicious interference.
You know, all this recent frenetic pop-up freakish insistence garbage has made me wonder what exactly do these pop-up freaks get out of being pop-up pests? I mean, obviously it isn't any monetary reward, since the more pestiferous they become, the less likely the victim is to buy whatever is being advertised. Yet, despite this very obvious drawback, maniacally on they go. So it cannot be that they are seeking financial gain from this pestiferous activity.
Which of course begs the question: What exactly is it that motivates these noxious, pop-up-pests? In my search for an answer, I have considered sadism, a certain sick pleasure derived from knowing that others are being annoyed via inconveniences and psychological distress. After all, sadism is indeed a real thing. You see it all the time in pornography where people are tied up and whipped or otherwise abused. The abusers actually get off on inflicting such pain.
So is that what motivates pop-up-freaks? A deriving of pleasure from knowing or imagining that they are provoking distress and anger on those whom they imagine to be helpless victims of their putrid antics?
