One Crazy Attempting to Intimidate Other Crazies
There has been much criticism of Putin behaving in a crazy way in order to intimidate the West. But there is a much greater issue than just threats . The issue is the insane manner that the West is responding. Yes, a sane person might be intimidated by insane threats. However, if the crazy is dealing with other crazies, then that attempted intimidation has a high likelihood of failure.
Why? Very simple, because the crazies that he is attempting to intimidate might react in a crazy way. In fact, the crazies he is attempting to intimidate might be crazier than he is. In such a case, he might be providing the crazies with what they have been hoping for all the time, a good opportunity to go totally berserk as they have been planning all along.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the case with Vladimir Putin's threats. The West's reactions to his nuclear attack threats seem to be pleasing certain crazies in power and they appear to be rejoicing about the opportunity that Putin has provided them with to finally reduce Earths population via a nuclear war leaving them as the few survivors. How? By speaking glibly about engaging Russia in a nuclear exchange as if this were an acceptable solution to the present problem.
Now, any sane person would readily see that it isn't. Such a war, if allowed to happen, will ruin the Earth and unleash horrible suffering and inflict billions of deaths. It will destroy our ecosystem. But since insanity rationalizes that such a scenario is OK and far more preferable to peaceful negotiations, and since those insane individuals have been voted into office to make decisions on our behalf, we have no options but to gaze in horror as they lead us into the ravenously gaping jaws of oblivion.
