Putin Calls Gas Leak "International Terrorism"
The European members of NATO are warning whoever is responsible for the sabotage that there will be military consequences? That raises the very serious question, suppose they find that the USA was responsible? Then what? After all, Biden did promise that the gas pipeline service would be taken out of commission if Russia persisted in its military aggression. That was guaranteed.
Now that it's happened, of course his threat logically comes to mind. So if indeed NATO discovers the USA was responsible, what an happens after all these years of trust and mutual cooperation? It isn't a simple matter. After all, Europe's dependence on USA assistance during and after the second World War was crucial to victory and its very existence is inextricably linked to the USA.
Is it indeed possible that NATO sever all ties with the USA? Will it then suddenly become pro Russian and cease to resist the Russian aggression in Ukraine as it is currently doing?
If indeed the USA sabotaged that pipeline, perhaps it underestimated the response of the nations that were to be severely affected by the discontinuation of that crucial service. Perhaps it expected some protests and nothing more. Assumed that things would continue as always between itself and NATO. But if we are to take the recent NATO warnings seriously, that doesn't seem the way things are turning out-does it?
Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
