Bogus Referendums and Gas Pipeline Sabotage
The cunning little man is at it again! Obviously, Putin doesn't give a rat's fat ass whether the West accepts his referendum as legal or not. As long as he can then legally declare those annexed areas as integral parts of Russia, and as being protected under the Russian nuclear umbrella 100%. Which of course, is intended to discourage any Ukrainian plans of retaking those territories by force as it has been threatening to do.
In fact, it is intended to stop the Ukranian military initiative in its tracks since then Ukraine will be accused of attacking Russia proper if it lobs shells into those areas. Which, of course, would provide Putin with the legal right to go nuclear in response to those attacks by claiming that the security of Mother Russia itself is involved.
The United State's declaration that it will never honor the results of those referendums only serves to increase world tension, and to inch mankind a few notches nearer to a nuclear war possibility.
