Why the Multiple Realities Idea is Unnacceptable to Christians
The multiple realities concept proposes that there are different versions of every living thing in and infinite number of realities. That every descuciion made generates different worlds with different versions of ourselves and others. In fact, in some of those realites people who have died in ours, such as Elvis Presely, Rocky Marciano, and President Kenedy, are still alive.
Now for atheists, that idea poses no problems. But for Christians, whose views are biblically based, it does. For example, it means that biblical personalities, such as Jesus, have made different choices in each reality. In some, we would need to assume, Jesus would never have been crucified. In others the apostle Paul would never have been converted and would have succeeded in stamping out Christianity. In still others, Mary would have refused the offer made to her by the angel concerning birthing the Christ.
Of course that would make the Biblical historical account only appliccable to our reality and not to the entire creation as we are clearely told. In short, believing in such a universe would mean that we believe that the Bible is lying to us when it describes our universe as the only one. But we are told clearly that the creation God describes as ours is indeed the only one.
Romans 8:22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of ,childbirth right up to the present time.
Notice that there are no exceptions, all creation, not just portions of realities where wrong decisions were made are groaning.
Neither does the Bible support the idea that there are many versions of God himself for each universe where he made a different decsion. That would make us polytheists.
1 Corinthians 8:6 -- yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.
So there is only one Lord and One God not an infinite number spread out in endless realities. In short, we would need to become polytheists despite the fact that we are clearly told that there is only one God almighty. One Savior not many. He tels us that clearly throgh his prophet Isaiah.
Isaiah 43:11 - I, [even] I, [am] the LORD; and beside me [there is] no saviour.
Not infiite versions of Gods, but one.
Isaiah 44:6 - Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God.
Neither does it teach that there many heavens and many Earths but one of each:
Psalm 115:16 The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.
Neither does it teach that Christ has suffered an infinite number of deaths but died once and for all times not millions of times in different realities. That also ismade abslutely clear:
Romans 6: 10
For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. 10The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God.
For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. 10The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God.
So from a Christian theological viewpoint, the multiple reality hypothesis, with all the anti biblical concepts, is totally unnacceptable.
