Why were Zebras never domesticated?
Ever wonder why the zebra, an animal which strongly resembles the horse except for its stripes, was not domesticated as the horse was? Was it some mysterious disinterest on the part of Sub Saharans? In view of just how useful horses could be, for farm-work, transportation, and war, I very often wondered exactly why this was so.
Well, the video explains the various reasons why some species of animals were simply very unsuitable for domestication, while others, like the horse, cow, and the dog, were considered ideal. Once we become familiar with these reasons, then the lack of domestication makes perfect sense.
