What is Ethics?
Actually, this question should only need to be asked of people who have not been formally educated to know what ethics is. Unfortunately, the vast majority especially in the USA do not. Why? Because our school system doesn't deem teaching kids the subject essential.
This is vey strange since a lack of knowledge in ethics can lead kids to grow up into amoral or morally defective adults who feel that they are a law unto themselves, and do not have the faintest idea of what being morally wrong or morally right is.
This leads to mindless justifications of injustices such as savage physical attacks or murdering someone
via excuses such as:
I didn't like the way he looked at me!
I wanted to teach him a lesson.
Umm, he challenged me!
It also leads to thefts using excuses such as:
Everybody does it!
He doesn't need it-he's rich!
That's compensation for low wages!
In short, it helps to create problematic citizens that will be disruptive and prove to be a burden to the justice system that is forced to deal with them in order to maintain law and order.
Solution? Teach kids early what ethics is all about!
