Predictions based on the Bible
As Christians, there is nothing wrong with providing our personal opinions about current events and where they MIGHT be leading based on our personal understanding of scriptures. However, what is definitely wrong is to say that our views are revelations from God with the assistance of God's holy spirit.
In short, to claim that we are God's chosen channel of communication with mankind and therefore that we should be trusted because our predictions are infallible. Now, if we do make such a claim, because we sincerely believe it to be true, and what we predict does not happen, then we are expected to admit that our claims of being God's channel of infallible information was untrue. After all, God understands that humans can make such mistakes and forgives us based on Jesus's Ransom Sacrifice,.
However, if we continue to foretell events claiming that we are God's chosen Channel of communication, fail again and make more predictions, then it becomes quite plain that we have not learned our lesson. In fact, such persistence seriously calls into question what our motives really are After all, if indeed we are seeking to please our creator, then one would stop predicting out of respect. However, if we continue, making predictions and changing biblical interpretations, instead of respectfully acknowledging that they simply are not sure, then we justifiably begin to wonder whether our priorities are unrelated to pleasing God and that we are far more concerned with promoting an organization. Please note that purposefully claiming future events as revelations from God was punishable by death.

Deuteronomy 18:20-22
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
