Types of Spanish Accents - Joanna Rants
One thing that causes variations in pronunciations among Latin Americans, and which should have been mentioned, is that not all people from Spain who arrived in the Americas spoke the same way. For example, some were from the Canary islands and speak like Puerto Ricans. In fact, Puerto Ricans visiting Spain are often mistaken for CANARY islanders due to the similarities in their accents. Others were from Galicia. Others from AndalucĂa. Still others from Madrid. The Argentinians have an Italian accent because a vast number of their immigrants from Europe were Italians.
