Why Russia’s Ukraine Invasion Isn’t World War III
When Russia recently invaded the Ukraine, a nuclear War seemed a very possible to most people. Especially with Putin's seemingly careless threat of using his nuclear weapons if direct military intervention were employed against him. Of course, people worried, and very justifiably so, since such a war would devastate not just the nations, involved, but the entire planet, making human survival very difficult, if not impossible.
But is Putin really risking a nuclear War? Or are there reasons why he was emboldened to invade the Ukraine without having to worry about this horrifying possibility? As it turns out, yes there are, and the video points the reasons out. There are two reasons actually. The first is Europe's dependence on Russian energy sources, and the the second is the unpopularity of the USA going to war with Russia among American voters.
During a recent meeting with NATO representatives, President Trump criticized the NATO nations for making themselves energy depended on Russia. Well, now we can appreciate the wisdom of why former president Trump severely criticized NATO representatives for that dependency. You see, such dependency provides the Russians with a weapon it can use against any NATO nation that dares to interfere with his military aggression by having them fear that Russia will shut off their energy supplies. In short, Putin knows that it has the NATO nations by the gonads and the they will not dare risk interfering in any significant way in the Ukraine due to fear of Russian reprisals in that area. So no escalation from that area can be expected.

NATO's Dependence on Russia for Energy
During a recent meeting with NATO representatives, President Trump criticized the NATO nations for making themselves energy depended on Russia. Well, now we can appreciate the wisdom of why former president Trump severely criticized NATO representatives for that dependency. You see, such dependency provides the Russians with a weapon it can use against any NATO nation that dares to interfere with his military aggression by having them fear that Russia will shut off their energy supplies. USA Reluctant to Fight Russia
Of course, the USA is not hindered in that way. However, popular opinion has always been taken into serious consideration before such decisions are made, and going to war with Russia is not a thing that most Americans want. So the present administration can be expected to go right along with NATO in the non-direct interference area in order not to alienate voters. However, it can be very powerfully resist this aggression via sanctions intended to force Russia to reconsider. and that is exactly what the USA is doing. So happily, the much feared nuclear war is not as certain as most of us supposed.
