Number of Latinos Identifying as Black in Latin America
I recently read the statement that all Latinos deny being black. Strange since the idea that all Latinos deny being black doesn't harmonize with reality. Why? Simple! Because there are 37 million Latinos in Latin America proudly declaring themselves black on the census as the following statistical data demonstrates. Of course Some might object to the inclusion of Haitians.
But Haitians speak a Latin Language, French, and are therefore technically Latinos as well. Why? Simple. Because Latino is not a racial designation. Anyone of any race can be Latino as long as the culture is of Latin origin. In any case, if we subtract Haitians then we are left with approx 29 million Latinos declaring themselves black on the census.
That's more people than there are in many countries such as Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, and other countries around the world.
