Is the film Hell-Boy as Harmless as it seeks to seem?
Well, I for one considered this film fairly harmless until only recently when I saw it described as featuring the Son of the Devil. Which of course is true. Despite all the effort to make Hellboy look like a good guy, this horned creature with a tail is indeed playing the part of the son of Satan. In fact, being the son of Satan is what qualifies him to fight it out with someone who wants to start a war on mankind by leading an army of indestructible robots. When only a prince would qualify to challenge for the command of this army, Hellboy's ancestry is immediately mentioned as being the son of the Fallen One.
Of course, all this can casually be dismissed as harmless. But is it really? Is it really harmless to depict a son of the Devil as a savior or benefactor to mankind? Is it harmless to downplay the danger that such creatures called demons pose and ignore all the harm they have done such as to bring about a global flood due to instigating sin among mankind? Is it right to ignore all the biblical admonitions to avoid sympathizing with such creatures based on how innocent they might feign or appear to be? Does it tend to lower one's guard?
Does it create a sort of sympathy for God's enemies who are perhaps insinuated to be victims of their upbringing as one of the films so cunningly summarizes at the end? ? In short, is it right to blame God for their behavior? Is it OK to depict a human female being in love and feeling affection and attraction towards a demon as was the case during the days of Noah?
Is it right to make such a relationship appear as noble and normal and make and to suggest that God was wrong in prohibiting such an abnormality or is oversensitive?
All these ideas are very subtly conveyed in the films called Hellboy and all are Satanic propaganda very cleverly camouflaged in order not to arouse any suspicion or concern.
Isaiah 14:12-15
12 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.
