Going to Mars is a fascinating idea. But it is also an idea that should raise very serious concerns, not just for the safety of the crew, but for mankind in general. The recent pandemic shows us just how vulnerable the human body can be when faced with a very rare pathogen. If this is so with one that arose on Earth among Earth creatures, then how much more devastating would one that is inadvertently brought back from Mars turn out?
No this is not merely sci fi nor fantasy. This is a real possibility. In fact, scientists speculate that some of the viruses that suddenly appear seemingly out of nowhere are actually visitors from outer space transported here by asteroids and other debris from space as they enter our atmosphere.
