Anaconda Revisited: Malicious Tampering
Anaconda Revisited:
Just recently, I was watching Anaconda for the maybe tenth time when suddenly I felt that I was watching a whole new movie. Why Lo and Behold! Jenifer Lopez was no longer looking tense and struggling with her role while copiously sweating like a stuck pig. Instead, she now looked bathed and as dry as her very prime and poised Anglo female co-star. In short, suddenly she was a pleasure to behold as one had expected it be before viewing the film only to have been deeply disappointing and baffled when it wasn't.
Then there was the very obvious difference in her acting. Now she was expressing emotions very convincingly and very creatively and not remaining stone-faced and enigmatic during moments when strong emotions were expected.
As I watched this debacle in amazement at the great difference, I realized that all these beautiful scenes had been purposefully rejected in favor of ones that would make Lopez look bad. Realized that for racist reasons certain ones in charge of choosing the best scenes had chosen the worst scenes that they could find. Well, in my case it had worked since it did make the other actress look like the much more attractive lead lady.
Why Jennifer herself did not notice this is a mystery. Too busy singing?
Was not shown until it was too late?
No one there to look after her interests?
BTW
Amazing the dedication that such people have when it comes to expressing racist hatred isn't it? They are even willing to risk their jobs, reputation and even to lose money in order to get in one good racist shot.
