Stop Risking your Babies by Trusting Dogs!
Seems like the kind of parental advice that should not have to be given-doesn't it? Something that common sense would immediately warn a person about-right? A thing that sanity would automatically assume-no? Yet there are parents who leave their newborn babies alone next to full grown dogs, or cats as if these animals would never harm their child. You see them proudly showing this on internet videos all the time. True, their faith in the trustworthiness and mental stability of these dogs is impressive. But one can;'t get rid of the sense of impending danger and wonder just how these supposedly caring parents don't feel it as well. After all, those dogs are just as susceptible as any human to going suddenly insane, being overwhelmed by instinct, suffering from undetected rabies, or harboring dangerous germs in their saliva.
In addition to these well-known facts, dogs have indeed attacked children for no discernible reason. So a stubborn belief in that impossibility ignores the facts that such children have been killed, or have been horribly facially deformed for life. Yet parents who are aware of such horrendous incidents, choose to dismiss them as the fault of the owners. However, that isn't always the case. After finding their child dead or severely damaged. some owners, who had an unshakable trust in their dog, have been baffled as to how and why their beloved, and previously well-behaved dog, suddenly went wild in that way. But then it's to late-isn't it?
So since this is the case, why exactly do such parents feel that they NEED expose their child to such a risk? Is it a sense of duty towards the dog? You know, to get people who fear dogs to trust them unconditionally as they do? Is that sense of duty so strong that it's worth playing Russian Roulette with a child's life? I would say that parents who feel that way are not qualified to raise kids and that the children should be placed under the supervision of parents who have a sane perception of reality.
