B.C. woman and 7 other ex-patients suing dentist This really rings a bell for me since I have been a victim of dentist malpractice several times. Two teeth lost, an infection and another tooth ruined because of being beveled to the gum-line unnecessarily,. All these totally preventable and done maliciously since the procedures are very obviously inflicted to do harm. You do not destroy tooth enamel unnecessarily. You do not drill sideways to ruin tooth canal possibilities. You do not yank a tooth back forth, and then tell the patient to come back a month later cause you don't have time to repair. You don't tell a patient that you don't know he has dry socket because you don't know what the white in the socket means. You do not yell Shoot! repeatedly, as you Xray a patient without providing lead shielding as is required. You don't go from patient to patient with unwashed hands. You don't tell a patient that you will contour around a cavity instead of filling it while counting on the patient's not knowing what the word contour means. Those and a host of other such incidents, convinced me long ago, that a visit to a dentist, is an extremely risky business. In any case, here is this patient's story of how one dentist savaged her.
