The Tao of La-La Land Biased boxing Commentators
What is a La-La Land boxing commentator? Well, to me it's one who seems completely disconnected with reality and proceeds to describe the fight as going completely opposite to how it is very obviously playing out. For example, they will describe their chosen fighter as winning every single round even though many of the rounds can go either way or are clearly lost.
They will the ascribe extreme difficulties their boy is having, as he gets pummeled from pillar to post, as merely his search for a new style and wants to learn. Punches, such as solid blows to their boy’s abdomen and face, are tagged as being ineffective because they are supposedly not hurting him. This despite the fact that those punches force him into a constant retreat
Most peculiar of all, is the agreement of the judges by giving a lopsided decision. Why? How can the judges share the identical lopsided scoring that the commentators are pushing as legit? That requires that they believe all the BS I just described. So collusion is suspected.
BS Comments
1. Power punches were Ineffective ?
Really? Scoring is scoring and if you outpoint your opponent, that round should be yours. Especially if the opponent isn’t hurting you with his punches. Yet, at no time were the favored fighter punches called ineffective. Re one backup up was their boy as he did all throughout fight until the end.
2. Santana wasn't hurting him?
That is La La Land. since in this universe, if someone punches hits you in the face-he is hurting you. Manny Pacquiau responded to the question:
“Was he hurting you?”
With the simple answer :
“He was punching me in the face.”
3. Hurd was Winning all rounds?
Running and getting hit so many times wins him every single round? Sorry but I don't buy that.
Better to turn off the sound and not listen to that BS.
The disrespectful Crowd
The crowd booing Santana as he tried desperately to overcome the size- difference, is extremely offensive. Never before have I seen this kind of blatant prejudice expressed towards an athlete's effort against the odds until the Trump administration with its demonizing of Latinos took over. SMH!
Here is the fight. Judge for yourself.
