Life in a Space Colony
Existence means survival and survival presents us with problems that must be solved. Mankind faces such problems here on Earth successfully. Problems involving extremes of weather and geological extremes such as volcanic activities and floods. In order to live in a space colony similar obstacles must be dealt with but which will be far more challenging.
For example, on Earth sandstorms are localized but on Mars they are very often global. Global sandstorms interfere with communication and production of electricity via solar panels as the sunlight is drastically reduced and ca threaten a colony if they last too long.
Other obstacles involve a lack of a breathable atmosphere, the near vacuum of space, extremes of temperatures that far exceed those on earth. The following videos delve into these extraterrestrial challenges and how mankind might go about facing them successfully.
