Jesus Biblically Described as a Warrior
So this is certainly not the docile peaceful Jesus that most Christians imagine, is it.? No, this is a powerful determined warrior carrying out a righteous warfare in his Father's name.
Most Christians prefer to imagine Jesus as a baby in a manger or else as a very docile person who would never express wrath against his enemies. But is this the Jesus whom the Bible always portrays? Well, in order to answer that question, let's see how the Bible prophetically portrays Jesus after his resurrection and glorification to heaven.
Revelation 19:11-16
Christ on a White Horse
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.
Rev 14:19
Rev 14:19
…18. Still another angel, with authority over the fire, came from the altar and called out in a loud voice to the angel with the sharp sickle, “Swing your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the vine of the earth, because its grapes are ripe.” 19. So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and gathered the grapes of the earth, and he threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath. 20. And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and the blood that flowed from it rose as high as the bridles of the horses for a distance of 1,600 stadia.
Rev 17:14
13. These kings have one purpose: to yield their power and authority to the beast. 14. They will make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will triumph over them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and He will be accompanied by His called and chosen and faithful ones.”
John 1:29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
2 Cor 15: …24. Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority, and power. 25. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.…
