More Drastic Modifications to JWs Beliefs
Here we go again folks. Now you can wear beards, not wear a suit during service or preaching, and are no longer forced to shun those disfellowshipped who were tagged as apostates. Now, suddenly and inexplicably, it is a matter of personal Christian conscience. Why? Is it because they finally saw the light? No siree Bob! Instead, it is because of being pressured by worldly authorities to clean up their act or suffer financial and legal lawsuit consequences.
Now, of course, to those who are newly-baptized, all these sudden theological innovations are probably being perceived as simply new light. You know, some special revelation that God, in his infinite wisdom, decided to dispense at just the right time. In fact, one governing body member on a YouTube video recently described experiencing these drastic theological changes as equivalent to living during a very exciting time in JWs history.
Of course, newly-baptized ones will calmly accept such a declaration at face-value. However, the millions of members who were severely restricted by such severe policies to the point of ruining their short lives as a consequence cannot help but to feel resentful for having been misled for an entire lifetime.
After all, some even lost precious family members via refusing some life-saving blood transfusion because they were told it was an inflexible salvation issue. Others equally convinced deprived themselves of normal communication with family members due to the strict shunning policies towards the disfellowshipped fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers sons and daughters. Precious years and and potentially beautiful experiences lost forever.
So no, all those hurtful things cannot simply be swept under the rug as if just a simple misunderstanding. Yet that is exactly the casual tongue-in-cheek attitude that the members of the so-called governing body convey, and it only serves to add insult to the injury.
