The Tao of the Illogical Scientist
It was once thought that our universe had always been the way it is and would remain in the state of self- renewal forever. It was referred to as the Steady State Theory. Certain people with an aversion towards anything relating to a creator, found this theory very comforting, since it completely contradicts what we are told in Genesis, that the universe came into existence because it was fashioned by creator, an almighty eternal being who meticulously planned it and then fashioned it into existence.
So when the theory of the Big Bang, a theory that had the universe suddenly emerging into existence from seemingly nowhere, presented a far more compelling concept and evidence began to pile up against the Steady State Theory, atheist Scientists and laymen, who were extremely averse to any evidence in support of the biblical account, panicked.
Illogical Fanatical Attack on Causality
Eventually when they realized that they could not ignore the clear evidence that established the Big Bang as fact, these atheist scientists decided that the best counterattack would be to claim that NOTHING caused the Big Bang. It just simply emerged out of nowhere from nowhere and for some unknown reason and then proceeded to develop into its present form. In other words, they attacked the obvious need for causality, not for everything else, all other things, of course, needed to be caused, but specifically for the Big Bang in order to get the terrifying concept of a creator out of the way once and for all.
Now, please note that such an attitude goes completely contrary to the purpose of science, which is to seek out facts and to acknowledge them when found regardless of how bitter their reality might be. In other words, the principles of science were cast conveniently aside, just for this anti-creation policy purpose. It was like officially declaring that something couldn't exist because they refuse to admit that it can, without providing any reason why it can’t. In that blatantly illogical fashion, they shamelessly violated cogent reasoning which leads to logical conclusions and without cogent reasoning, there cannot be science because science totally depends on it.
You see, once a scientist begins to ignore cogent reasoning, then two-plus-two can be anything except four because the scientist finds the concept of four offensive. Hot hot can be classified as cold because the scientist has an aversion to hotness,. Up can be tagged as down, because the scientist becomes nauseated at the thought of up. In short, the scientist ceases to be a scientist and becomes a quack whose prime directive is to prove anything he is aversive to false, regardless of the compelling evidence to the contrary.
Below is further information concerning what occurred: concerning the Big bang concept.
Atheism and the Big Bang theory: Is there coherence?
The Big Bang Theory implies that the universe erupted from nothing or from an infinite state of singularity in which the entire energy and existence of the present universe was confined. Initially as the universe bursts out of this prison it expands through various stages until matter and energy is released in open space and matter is freed to form into gaseous clouds, then into stars gathering into groups of galaxies.
Contrary to the often held notion that the Big Bang is an atheistic model of existence, the Big Bang theory would require the need of an original mechanism, it implies the necessity and need for a creator who powered it, including a cause behind the universe that depends upon intelligence. This has indeed caused concern within the scientific academic world, which otherwise induces natural explanations only (Andrei Linde, The Self-Reproducing Inflationary Universe, in The Scientific American (ed.) David H. Levy, New York, Macmillan Publishers, 2000, p. 386).
Very few atheists dare to touch this topic in details and most scientists and philosophers either remain silent on the matter or at least indicate the possibility of divine action. The former atheist Antony Flew claims that the Big Bang theory changed everything and disturbed the naturalistic paradigms of the cosmologist and the atheist alike (There is a God, pp. 136-7).
Also, Hawking records that there were reactions against his work since it upset many physicists while it delighted religious leaders who believed in an act of creation, ‘for here was scientific proof (Hawking, The Universe in a Nutshell, p.41).’ Indeed the atheist exponent, Quentin Smith, concedes that among atheists an uncomfortable silence ruled and the response is weak and almost invisible (see Quentin Smith, A Big Bang Cosmological Argument For God’s Nonexistence (Infidel.org, 1992)
Consequently, a number of atheist scientists have embraced as a clear probability the existence of a creator, e.g. Robert Jastrow and Antony Flew (see: Jastrow, Until the Sun Dies, p. 21 and Antony Flew, There is God: How the World’s Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind (New York: Harper Collins Books, 2007), pp. 136-7).
