Question
I was recently pondering on how the universe is expanding and its stars constantly are reaching a distance where their light is no longer visible from our Earth. Then it suddenly dawned on me that something seems to be completely out of kilter with this description.
You see, if indeed stars are disappearing into the unobservable range due to universal expansion, then why can't we observe them constantly blinking out by the millions? After all, shouldn't the edge of the visible universe be a location where stars seem to be rapidly blinking out of existence as they constantly go beyond the perceptual range?
Yet we have never detected or observed evidence of this supposedly ongoing phenomena.
Any opinions?
