Sodom and Gomorrah Archeological Evidence
According to the Bible in Genesis, God sent two angels to rescue Lot, and his family who were dwelling in Sodom, from the destruction that would befall the two cities named Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sinning that the inhabitants were practicing.
Genesis 19:13
Genesis 19:23-29
for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great before the Lord that the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”
Genesis 19:23-29
The sun had risen over the earth when Lot came to Zoar. Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven, and He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
Unfortunately, there is a strong tendency for atheistic archeologists to discredit whatever is related to the Bible, not only by doubting it, but also by cunningly interpreting evidence in such a way that it seems to prove the biblical record as bogus.
Of course archeologists will only post videos which agree with their incredulity, and will tend to ignore the ones which present evidence in support of the biblical account.
This video presents archeological evidence in support of the biblical accounted concerning these two cities that are described as having been destroyed by God for the sin that was being practiced there.
Why is it important? It is important because if Sodom and Gomorrah would have been merely some fanciful tale, then Our Lord Jesus Christ , who mentioned these cities as being real, and the events as actual history, would have been lying, and could not have been the Son of God. Below is Jesus' own words as recorded by the Apostol Mathew.
Matthew 10:15
Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
So this is indeed very important.
