Recognizing and Reporting Animal Cruelty and Neglect
This thread is in response to a very popular video that shows a group of men punishing a dog-abuser by inflicting the same type of savage physical abuse that they believe he inflicted on his dog. He is placed on a leash, punched, kicked and dragged around.
Now please believe me, I have deep empathy for the suffering of the dog or any other animal that is subjected to abuse. Also, yes, I do believe that such a person should receive punishment for the crime. However, there are agencies and legal venues provided to bring such a criminal to justice without us having to sink to his level of savagery, especially against a fellow human being.
Yes, despite his behavior he is still a human being and should be treated as such. Otherwise, by imitating him we sink below his level since his crime involved an animal while ours involves a fellow human.
No, he does not cease to be a human simply because of a mental illness or some other personality quirk, just as animals do not cease to be animals due to their mental aberrations.
Below are provided phone numbers that can be used to report such animal abuses.
