The reason I focus on children's rights is because I recently viewed a mother on You Tube savagely beating her eighteen year-old son. No, this was not a simple disciplinary beating involving a few belt strikes. Instead, it involved being repeatedly punched in the face by a mother three times his weight and size, being kicked in the body, face and head repeatedly, and repeatedly being dragged back and forth by the hair on the floor, while his so-called father stood calmly by filming it. Something that strongly resembled attempted murder and which is is strongly condemned by the law.
I was also motivated by the way in which children are being treated in the Middle East. You see, despite their innocence, they are being murdered indiscrmitaely by fanatical adults based on the adult hatred that exists between Israelis and Palestinians. Now, neither group of adults is blameless in this. Both groups have behaved as if children's lives are expendable, and can be unceremoniously snuffed out in order to satisfy a need for revenge.

They seem to ignore the fact that Children are human beings, and have rights that are protected by laws. The same rights that are enumerated in our Constitution apply as equally to them as they do to adult citizens, and the government is under the same obligation to assure them those rights as it is under obligation to assure its adult citizens of such rights.
That is why it is illegal and punishable by law to practice child abuse. So no! children aren't yours to do with as you please. They are definitely not your property. Why? Because human beings should never be legally viewed as mere property due to their humanity. This was made clear via the abolishment of slavery and children are definitely NOT your slaves.
