Fomenting ill-Will towards certain USA Citizens
No, this is absolutely nothing new. Fomenting of ill will towards certain groups in order to unite people behind a common cause was also used by Hitler, who cunningly blamed the Jews for the humiliating WWI disaster, and in that way encouraged racist discriminatory practices.
Well, unfortunately, today in the USA, we have the same thing going on but in a more roundabout way. How exactly? Well, simple, by a former president and now a presidential candidate, constantly making references to people from south of the border as being a threat to national security and in that manner preventing the USA from being great again.
Of course these constant accusations enrages racists who perceive it as a green light of approval for them to start openly practicing racism again. So no, as a Latino who is beginning to suffer the effects of this re-emerging attitude again as his anti-South-American rhetoric gains momentum, I would not vote for such a candidate despite agreeing with him on such issues as abortion.
