Are Latinos really more United Than African Americans?
Just recently I read about the deep concern that African Americans are expressing about Latinos supposedly being more united than African Americans.
Below was my response in the YouTube commentary section:
Latinos are always united? Oh really? Is that why Chile helped the United Kingdom to savage the Argentineans during the Falkland War? No jet fighter could take off from Argentina towards the Falklands without Chile warning the British. Ever hear of the War of Triple Alliance where Paraguay's population was almost exterminated by other Latinos?
Paraguay suffered massive casualties, and the war's disruption and disease also cost civilian lives. Some historians estimate that the nation lost the majority of its population.

Also, Mexicans and Dominicans generally do not like Puerto Ricans nor other Caribbean Latinos. Furthermore, these Latino groups have different concerns and different agendas. For example, Puerto Ricans don't give a frog's fat ass about the border difficulties involving immigration between Mexico and the USA. They really don't care about the trouble that Cubans have in getting to the USA nor the troubles that Cubans are experiencing on their communist island. Neither do Mexican Americans care about Cuban, Puerto Rican or Dominican problems.
Neither are Latinos as racially homogeneous as African Americans are since there are White Latinos, black L:atinos, Asian Latinos, Native American Latinos, Mestizo, Pardo L:atinos and Mulato Latinos, etc.
In short there is nor real cultural, or racial basis for unity, two factors that the Africa American community takes for granted, and which should facilitate a unified effort.
In short, if indeed the black community is falling behind the Latin American progress as you are saying, then it is despite these two very significant advantages that the African American community has over the Latino community in the USA.
