Paper-Towel-Throwing Time again?
Wow! Hurricaane season again in the Caribbean as usual! Now with hurricane Laura savagely slamming into the Gulf Coast States, one would expect the POTUS to order an immediate purchasing of as many stockpiled paper-towels as possible in order to express deep concern and compassion towards the survivors by throwing them at them in a basketball style as was done in Puerto Rico.
After all, we would not want mainland Americans to conclude that favoritism is being shown and that they are somehow unworthy of such an honor-now would we? I mean, if these far-flung island Puerto Ricans, who are not even allowed vote for the President, were deemed worthy of such a paper-towel-throwing display of deep presidential concern, then surely, so also should be the far-worthier mainland Mexican-Gulf-Coast USA American Citizens who voted him into office..
That is unless they deem the gesture as being reserved for a people deemed so backward that they view paper towels as some kind of extremely expensive technological innovation and perceive someone giving them away as a very unusual and praiseworthy display of extreme generosity. In that case, they would view the gesture as similar to how European colonists presented glass beads and other such trinkets to the Native Americans who were considered too stupid to realize that they were being cunningly bamboozled out of their land. In that case, mainland civilized Americans would definitely take umbrage at such a presumptuously intended or perhaps unintended insult.
