A Violence Loving, Bloodthirsty, Disciple of Christ?
Just recently, I encountered this fellow at a store where he proceeded to use foul language, make indecent hand gestures and gloat over my age and then admit proudly, that he was attempting to provoke me to attack him so he could savage me. When he noticed that his threats had failed to intimidate me, he suddenly declared himself to be non-violent and identified himself as a Christian.
Now, at that moment, I did not respond adequately due to the stress that was clouding my thinking. I was just relieved that the idiocy had not escalated into something worse. However, pondering the events during calmer moments, I realized how utterly inappropriate it was for this beast to identify himself with the Lord Jesus Christ. Why? Well, because his conduct was devilish and there was absolutely nothing devilish about the Lord Jesus Christ nor about his teachings. So claiming to be his disciple while behaving in a devilish way just doesn't make any sense.
Was he being sincere in his belief that he is a Christian? Could be. There are actually millions of people who do act like the devil and yet claim to be Jesus'disciples. The Spaniards who slaughtered and tortured the Native Americans claimed to be devout Catholics in the service of God. Protestants and Catholics slaughtered one another in the field of battle while claiming to be Christ's disciples. So his claim is nothing unusual. it is just the same old run-of-the-mill hypocrisy that has been fashionable ever since the death of the Apostles and the emergence of the apostasy that they foretold took place.
In short, anyone can claim to be a disciple of Jesus. But whether they are or not, is provable only by their behavior, and not by some baseless claim.
John 14:15 NIV

Matthew 7:
21 Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?”
23 And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness
