Recently, during one of his rallies, the POTUS expressed the possibility that a man who had recently died might be in hell. It was a statement with the intention to hurt his widow by having her imagine her husband being tortured in the afterlife. Was Trump criticized by his Evangelical supporters? Not at all. They seem to support whatever the President does or utters no matter how offensive it might seem to others.
Those observing such acceptance by people who claim to be Christian, were shocked. Don't they know right from wrong? Don't they have a conscience? Don't they see the pain that he is inflicting on the man's widow? Were questions that were asked
Unfortunately, the sad reality is, that such unchristian amoral and immoral behavior among professed Christians is nothing new. History abounds with many poignant examples of this hypocrisy. .
Here are just a few:.
1. Professed Christians slaughtering each other in battlefields as they did during WWI and WWII and during Protestants vs Catholics wars in Europe with the full assistance of their clergy.
2. Professed Christians being racists during USA slavery and Jim Crow, holding the Bible in one hand and the whip in the other.
