Same Race Ethnicity, Religion is no Guarantee
Isn't it strange how humans tend to assume that commonality of ethnic group religion or race means that members of same groups will treat one another better than they treat others?
After all, history clearly demonstrates otherwise. For example, during WWII whites persecuted and slaughtered other whites. During the Protestant reformation, members of the same religion, Christendom, slaughtering one another like cattle.
In the USA blacks speak of brotherhood and sisterhood. Yet the statistic indicate that such claims make no difference. Even in Africa itself we had the same situation. For example, we have the account of Shaka, the famous Zulu chieftain committing atrocities on members of other black tribes. There have also been numerous civil wars there among blackls in which tribal genocide has been attempted.
Then we have the members of the so called Yellow race, or East Asians. Absolutely no difference! The Mongols under Genghis Khan were infamous for the horrendous crimes they perpetrated against people of their own race. Neither did commonality of race as it make any difference to the Japanese when they committed atrocities against the Chinese in the city of Nanking and even used the Chinese for medical experiments.
So it is really astonishing that despite the abundance of evidence to the contrary, people still tend to assume that commonality of religion, ethnic group. nationality or race will provide some guarantee of decency.
The bitter reality is that it doesn't and the sooner people wake up to the fact the less susceptible people will be to being victimized because of false expectations and unwarranted trust.
