Minding one's own business seems to be something that certain humans have a very hard time avoiding to do. Humans are, somewhere, just happen to hear two people arguing, and far too frequently will be observed immediately jumping right in either verbally or even physically on one side or another.
Some are even extremely willing to join in the fray if things get violent, justifying their involvement by thinking they are on the side of justice without knowing all the details involved.
Some do so based on gender, if it's a man arguing with a woman, then she needs help. So as a gent, he might feel obligated verbally join the fray on her side. If it is a foreigner or a person who looks like a foreigner, arguing with one that looks like an Anglo or African American, then a political sense of duty might impel them to eagerly jump into the fray in order to put the imagined foreigner in what they deem to be his proper place.
Such persons obviously don't abide by the notion that a person is innocent until proven guilty. They will tag one or the other guilty, and then attempt to be the judge, the jury, and part of the execution squad if necessary
In short, they are American in name only, but not in practice since a true American respects the Constitutional principles of innocence until proven guilty and of respecting the American law-enforcement principles necessary for our American society to function properly.
Now, such persons tilt the balance by placing their target at a numerical disadvantage. Suddenly, their target is facing additional antagonists. So he either stupidly remains around waiting to be beaten to a pulp by irate so-called American vigilante-minded citizens, or else leaves before the mob-mentality sends him to the ER with permanent injuries.
On the other hand, if the targeted person has a weapon, and is totally fed up with this kind of garbage, he might now feel justified in using it at the slightest threat of aggression from the group of the self-righteous nosy ones. Maybe the first nosy or first nosies to make a physically-aggressive move might be shot and killed or maimed.
Sadly, this is all totally unnecessary since it was none of their God-damned business to begin with.
So in order to wisely avoid that tragic possibility, why not simply mind our own business as the law requires and common decency demands? If we feel the the need for intervention, then call the police. They are paid to intervene in such matters. If it is merely a verbal argument, let them work it out between them. Mind your own business.
