Latin American Ethnics
Some people in the United States believe that the racial mix in Latin America is predominantly between whites and blacks. Well, that is false. You see, the mix is mostly between Native Americans and Europeans. That's the reason why Mestizo is the largest group as the statistics provided below prove.
90% of Paraguay's population is mestizo,
53% of the population of Peru are Mestizos
Ecuador 70% of the current population is Mestizo.
49% of the Colombian population is mestizo, or of mixed European and Amerindian ancestry.
University of Chile states that 30% of the population is of only European origin; mestizos are estimated to amount to a total of 65%, while Indigenous peoples comprise the remaining 5%
El Salvador 86.3% Mestizo
As of 2012 most Costa Ricans are primarily of Spanish or mestizo ancestry with minorities of German, Italian, Jamaican, and Greek ancestry.
Around 50–90% of Mexicans can be classified as "mestizos"
Present Percentage of Native Americans in the countries mentioned and how many millions.

Beginning in the late 15th century, large numbers] of Iberian colonists settled in what became Latin America (Portuguese in Brazil and Spaniards elsewhere in the region), and at present most white Latin Americans are of Spanish or Portuguese origin. Iberians brought the Spanish and Portuguese languages, the Catholic faith, and many Iberian traditions. Brazil, Argentina and Mexico contain the largest numbers of whites in Latin America in pure numbers.
Whites make up the majorities of Argentina, Costa Rica, and Uruguay. Also, whites make up roughly half of Brazil and Chile's population as well. Of the millions of immigrants since most of Latin America gained independence in the 1810s–1820s, Italians formed the largest group, and next were Spaniards and Portuguese
Many others arrived, such as French, Germans, Greeks, Poles, Ukrainians, Russians, Estonians, Latvians, Jews, Irish and Welsh. Also included are Middle Easterners of Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian descent; Most of them are Christian Whites presently compose the largest racial group in Latin America (36% in the table herein), and, whether as White, Mestizo, or Mulatto, the vast majority of Latin Americans have white ancestry.
