Space Weather
When we think of weather, we think about the violent movement of wind, water, waves, sleet, and snow. Of course that is true, that is indeed weather. But it is not the only type of weather. For those who study outer space and the planets, there is also space-weather and for our solar system, this primarily depends on the activity of the sun.
You see, just as there is wind on Earth, consisting of the movement of Earth’s atmosphere, space weather also consists of the movement of particles produced by stars, including our sun. Now, when this radiation reaches a certain level of intensity and velocity, it is called a storm. Such a storm is lethal to life and the only thing protecting us from it is our atmosphere and our magnetosphere.
